Trick or Treat on Cherokee Street

The Cherokee Street Halloween tradition continues with a socially-distanced Trick-or-Treat. It will run concurrent to Trick-or-Treat on Chippewa, from 4:30-6:30pm.

Volunteers will be posted along Cherokee Street with wrapped candy, street maps, masks, and hand sanitizer. They are taking extra precautions to ensure that the activity follows CDC and City of St. Louis guidelines, with sidewalk signage and demarcated spaces for safe distribution.

Participating businesses and distribution locations will be listed on the street map/flyer on the event page.

Holiday Window Decorating Contest - 14 participating retailers from 9 am-4 pm.

Nuisance Abatement and Evictions Landlord Training with Tower Grove CDC

At this event, you will learn management practices for avoiding nuisance and evictions.  Nuisance is an act or physical condition which is detrimental to the safety, welfare, or convenience of the inhabitants of the city (see Nuisance Ordinance #68535).  St. Louis city counselor, Susan Phelps, will outline the role of the City's Problem Property team for abating nuisance.  Learn from Brightside rep, Rachel Greathouse, how to deal with trash left behind after a move-out. Attorney Julie Ostrom, who specializes in real estate matters, will explain the different types of evictions and what to expect during the eviction process.  

The 2019 Landlord Training is a Northside-Southside Collaboration between North Newstead Association and Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC. This FREE training is open to all landlords, property managers, developers, and interested parties.
